Collection for Claremont F-ADT Officers

Collection for Claremont F-ADT Officers

Personal message

After the devastating attacks on armed response officers on Saturday, 23 July 2022, there was a call from the Claremont community to collect donations. The Harfield Village Community Improvement District Voluntary Association (HVCID) responded by making our bank account available for this collection on behalf of the broader community. This was done in agreement with our longstanding partner, Fidelity ADT.

This collection of donations is for both the F-ADT Officers who were shot in Harfield Village and Upper Claremont. The Harfield officer is fortunately in a stable condition, recovering in hospital. Tragically, the Upper Claremont officer succumbed to his injuries. Money collected will go to his family.

The whole Claremont community truly appreciates the officers that patrol our streets day and night. And we send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the officers, their families, as well as to their colleagues who are working through this traumatic event. We wish the surviving officer a speedy recovery.

Thank you to those of you who have already donated directly into the HVCID bank account. Individual residents, neighbourhood watches, and other organisations throughout Claremont have already been unbelievably generous. There were requests for an online crowdfunding option, which is why we have set up this BackaBuddy fundraiser, which will compliment the direct donations into the HVCID account.

Dear residents of the broader Claremont community in Cape Town,

After the devastating attacks on armed response officers on Saturday, 23 July 2022, there was a call from the Harfield Village community to collect donations. The Harfield Village Community Improvement District Voluntary Association (HVCID) responded by making our bank account available for this collection. This is in agreement with our longstanding partner, Fidelity ADT. HVCID is a small group of Harfield residents who volunteer our free time to improve safety and security in the Village. We are not a charity or registered NPO.

The community has been unbelievably generous. There were requests for an online crowdfunding option, which is why we have set up this BackaBuddy fundraiser, which will compliment the direct donations into our account.
