Dyspraxia isn’t a sign of muscle weakness or of low intelligence. It’s a brain-based condition that makes it hard to plan and coordinate physical movement. Children with dyspraxia tend to struggle with balance and posture. They may appear clumsy or “out of sync” with their environment.
In South Africa, specifically Johannesburg, there is no official support or information surrounding Dyspraxia and I would like to set up a non profit organisation to address this problem and ensure that parents of these incredible children receive the support that they require.
The mission of the organisation is to provide support and awareness of Dyspraxia to South African parents, teachers and caregivers.
The money that we raise initially will be utilised to register as a non profit organsaition, set up an interactive website, and social media sites and to arrange support groups to allow parents to share their own experiences and listen to talks by professionals who work with Dyspraxic Children.
