Getting Yamkela back on her feet

Getting Yamkela back on her feet

Personal message

Yamkela Nombila is our beautiful assistant kitchen team leader at Bread Milk and Honey. In July her mom, who was living in the Eastern Cape and caring for her children, had a stroke. Yamkela had to return to her home town to assist her mother and then bring her back home for better medical care. On the day of their return her mom passed away. The following week, her whole family returned to the Eastern Cape for the funeral.

On the way way back, their taxi was involved in a terrible accident. Yamkela, her 3 children as well as her sister were in the vehicle when it had a puncture and then swerved in front of a truck. Her daughter died on the site and Yamkela sustained serious injuries to her head and spine.

Yamkela is currently unable to work and the road to healing, both physically and emotionally will be a long one.

We have set up this fund to reach out to the Bread Milk & Honey family. We are hoping to raise some funds to assist with Yamkela's day to day expenses as well as to provide private physio and trauma counselling that will aide her and her remaining children to deal with this devastating chain of events.
