IRONMAN (what!!) for Nature

IRONMAN (what!!) for Nature

Personal message

Hi, my name is Hanno Langenhoven ,and I am from KwaZulu-Natal, Mooirivier.

The IRONMAN for Nature charity objective is to bring athletes, sponsors, and organizers together to benefit conservation and nature. All proceeds raised are allocated to Wilderness Foundation Africa for them to implement their conservation projects.

I am excited to join this passionate team. Our natural heritage is under attack, and it is only through the efforts of committed people like the Wilderness Foundation Africa and others that we can leave an intact and diverse legacy to our children. This is always a daunting task. In the age of Covid-19, even more so.

Would you please help me make a difference in the lives of the animals, the people who look after them, and the lives of future generations?

Through my fundraising drive, I will help Wilderness Foundation Africa work in their three key focus areas: Species, Spaces and People.

Species: Protecting endangered species. Key focus currently: Rhino. On the ground protection and demand reduction in Vietnam, a key user country.
Spaces: Expanding protected areas, improving the management of protected areas.
People: Youth Development, bridging the gap between youth from challenging backgrounds and opportunities that conservation can present.

All funds raised will go towards the three key focus areas of Wilderness Foundation Africa. One of these focus areas provides aerial support, vehicle support, and K9 support to protect endangered rhino populations under the constant threat of poaching. The funding raised will help with this as well.

Wilderness Foundation Africa is a South African project-based Non-Profit and Public Benefit conservation organisation, established in 1972. The Foundation’s headquarters are based in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa.

Through our 3 key focus areas of Species, Spaces, and People, we envisage a world that has sufficient intact natural ecosystems and wilderness areas that are valued and effectively protected for the benefit of all.

Our work is based on the values of a passion for direct conservation action; respect for all living things; a deep commitment to conservation education; and operations that demonstrate integrity, transparency, sustainability, and innovation.
