I'm a 51 year old widow staying in Alberton, Johannesburg. I had 2 children, one of them is late, a son. My daughter is 21 years old.
My son passed away last year due to kidney failure, soon after he had rewritten his matric. After being unsuccessful in his studies for the first time, largely due to his medical condition, we had to resort to getting him extra lessons from a private tutor so that he could rewrite. The challenge was that I could not afford them as I am working as a maid. Fortunately, the good samaritan Manti Mafokwane, my son's friend from Church, offered to tutor him free of charge because she understood our situation. After writing his final exams, his condition grew worse and he eventually passed on. We were all devastated. When the results came out he had passed with flying colours.
I am fundraising for the same young woman who helped my dying son to realise his dream of passing Matric, though he did not live long enough to see it. After finishing her postgraduate studies, she has not found employment and has decided to go back for a Masters degree. The challenge is that she does not have enough funding to take her through the whole programme since she's from a poor background.
My passion comes from the selfless acts of kindness she showed to my son when he was still alive. She proved that she has the capacity to help those in need. I believe that if she gets the degree then she will be in a position to help even more people who are in need.
Apart from being empowered to help others, the donation will also add to the tally of women who go as far as Master's degree in the country. This will also serve as a source of inspiration to other young women, to see that it can be done, even by women.

I would like to help Manti pay for her Postgraduate studies in honour of my son.
