Help rescue Cheetahs & Lions

Personal message

As a Non-Profit Organization that depends solely on international volunteers for income, we are running out of funds due to the global lockdown and airport closures.

We do not generate funds by means of animal exploitation such as public tours or the trade-in animals.

Our income has come to a sudden halt due to the Covid 19 outbreak and we are in desperate need of funds to care for our animals over the next few months.

One of our matriarch female cheetahs has just undergone major surgery and the needed DNA testing has also been done on four young cheetahs, these bills are still outstanding and need to be covered ASAP.

Reaching our target goal will mean that all our animals are not only fed the correct type of food but also the correct amount.

Reaching the goal will mean that all our outstanding veterinary bills will be covered and the needed follow up medication and much-needed supplements can be acquired to ensure all the animals are kept in the best possible health over this difficult time.

Funds will also be used to ensure that our African staff that plays an integral role in caring for the animals do not lose their jobs and can still provide for their families.

Funds raised will be used for food for the cheetahs, lions, caracals, servals, as well as smaller rescued animals

Veterinary costs, electricity, African staff salaries, fuel (gasoline), property mortgage payment. Security cost for the safety of all animals

Running Wild Conservation

Running Wild Conservation Logo

We are a Non Profit rescue and release as well as rewilding program based in South Africa and dedicated to the breeding and release of cheetah to supplement the dwindling wild population. We also rewild and release other animals rescued from bad facilities and horrible living circumstances. The only Cheetah facility who does not sell their animals but breed cheetahs for the sole purpose of releasing them back onto protected areas. We have had enormous success with this rewilding initiative in the past and others are starting to follow our lead.

Other animals are also released back into the freedom that have been obtained either from zoos or other breeding institutions that are not able to do their own releases. The breeding, raising, and training of these animals prior to release comes at a hefty price, all this funding comes out of our own pocket and no animals are sold to cover any of these costs. Funding for the project comes from a handful of volunteers that visit our project on a monthly basis.

We are not open to the public and do not breed any animal for trading purposes. We are a 100% conservation-focused entity with many years of dedication and knowledge backed by true passion and respect for the wildlife of Southern Africa

As a result of the coronavirus outbreak our only form of income has been halted due to the flight embargoes put in place by airlines worldwide. This means that no volunteers are able to fly in from there respective countries and this, in turn, relates to no income for Running Wild Conservation.

Sadly this has a direct effect on our animals as without funds we cannot purchase food, medicine or enrichment objects. Furthermore, we are unable to pay rent or purchase fuel or pay our staff salaries.

We strongly believe that this is a temporary crisis but for now it is a huge one.

Your donations will go towards purchasing animal food and needed medication as well as make it possible to pay staff salaries and rental as well as purchase needed maintenance equipment.

We do not often ask for financial assistance, we do not want to abuse your generosity. But now, during this global disaster, we really need to count on you to help our animals. You are and will always be part of our journey to return them to the wild, where they belong!

We understand not everyone can always assist financially, so please share our fundraiser with all your friends and family.

Thank you,

Stay safe
