My name is Anton Borez and I am the Chairman and founder of Eksal. We started a bold initiative in the lower resource communities to help the youth get involved in structured exercise and sports programs in the community. Due to the high rate of unemployment, poverty, gangsterism, drugs and the abuse of alcohol in these communities.
There is an urgent need for programmes and structures put in place to assist in giving the youth constructive use of their time, energy and potential.
My background in sports started with athletics in 1980 thrown into a system and compelled to attend a coloured school which was 30 min from where we had to stay. I experienced the 1st taste of athletics and eventually excelled in the 100 m and relay. The passion for sports, the feeling of achievement, determination and drive was born, which eventually led to being multiple provincial champion in athletics in high school with numerous records.
As I've observed due to my own journey, the adverse conditions and lack of parental guidance and motivation drives the youth to seek alternative measures of activities rather than constructive use of time and energy.
Eksal’s plan is to get a premises where the youth from the community can access and be placed on the programs for their immediate benefit constructively and for their future growth as contributing members of the community.
Eksal has launched its 1st campaign ‘Save the youth on the Cape Flats' today.
Our goal is to reach R500000 to get us premises (leased for now) and reliable transport in order to fulfil our plans and objectives for the year ahead.
More than 50% of the youth come from fatherless households and live in extreme adverse conditions of verbal, physical, mental and emotional abuse that any and every generous gesture allows them to escape into a world of hope and encouragement. Your support can help us help this youth achieve their dreams.
Just a small donation of R100 to R500+ will greatly help us get our premises and logistics sorted in order to visit the 100 + schools on the agenda who will benefit the services of Eksal’s programmes. The gratitude will be extended as extra donations will be used for sports equipment and apparatus used in the programs.
You can make contributions on our crowdfunding page(link to page) if you can't give, but still want to support our cause, please share our page with your friends, family members and co-workers. With more people aware of our cause we’ll be one step closer to reaching our goal.
The team at Eksal would like to thank you in advance for your support.
