Help Us Replace Our Field Van

Help Us Replace Our Field Van

Personal message

The Animal Anti-Cruelty League Port Elizabeth operates daily mobile clinics into the indigent Northern Areas and informal settlements, where they dip and medically treat the animals and take sterilisation cases to their Clinic for surgery. The animals are then returned the following day after sterilisation.

They also deal with all abuse, neglect and cruelty cases, education needs, rescue work and re-homing. Their outreach into these areas is extensive and they rely entirely on their transport vans, which are equipped as mobile clinics.

On 9 March their one field van was written off in a head-on-collision, with a vehicle proceeding in the wrong direction along a one-way offramp. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries to any parties, including the animals that were being returned to their homes. However, this has been a huge loss to the League and they urgently need to replace their field van. The replacement cost is R300 000.

Insurance payout and local fundraising has managed to get the target to R191 000. Please help to put their field team back on the road, so that they may continue to help those who cannot speak for themselves.
