Help A Passionate Footballer Go To Turkey

Personal message

My name is Irshaad Ahmed Abrahams, and I am 20 years old. Growing up in the streets of Woodstock I fell in love with the game of soccer at an early age, Woodstock, Western Cape.

Playing in the streets as well as any place I could get a chance to play the game. At the age of 7, I joined Salt River Blackpool Football Club. I was scolded and got beatings because I would walk alone to the soccer field, from my mother. As drugs were being sold on the street and shootings would break out on a regular, but that would not stop me. I was passionate about the game, received many awards at Blackpool.

I left the club at age 14 to join Grassboots Football Club, as I needed growth. They were in the Tygerberg league, my growth here landed me in the higher divisions. In 2020, my matric year I left Grassboots to join Blackpool again as it was closer to home and experienced more development in the senior team. I played a short spell at Wits University Football Club, during that time I lost one of my closest friends and this setback affected me greatly. Covid19 also hit football so I came back home. There had been many times where I wanted to quit, but I remember why I started. This year I started training early when no one was watching and decided to sacrifice my time and give it my all. Through my tenacity and Allah's mercy, a trial came my way. I attended the trials which took place across the country and made the final 25 man squad. I always knew I had it in me when I was playing among the older boys.

I do not share many things on social media and have known my Mother to be a woman of strength as she always made things happen. I just cannot bestow this upon her as well. She was a single mother who raised my brother and me all by herself. We lost my dad at the early age of me being a few days old, he was killed on our doorstep. I just want to fulfill my dreams and make her proud. I’m not one to post and love my privacy but I need R30K to go to Turkey in February 2022 with  the football project which must be paid in installments up until then. It would be my first time traveling abroad and I’d really appreciate any donations to make this dream a reality.

The smallest donation will be appreciated and you will be blessed abundantly.
