JC LANDMAN - Seizure Free

JC LANDMAN - Seizure Free

Personal message

My name is Mimi Boshoff and I live in Port Elizabeth. I am fundraising for my son, JC, who has been suffering from seizures for the last 20 years, and medication is no longer effective. The seizures are getting worse, and more frequent. He finally has a chance for surgery, and this will improve his quality of life, allowing him to watch TV, go for a walk, unaccompanied, and eventually, off his medication.

The operation, scans, and hospitalization are very expensive, and his Medical Aid does not cover all the costs. We as a family a seriously lacking the funding, to go this alone.
With special thanks to TANYA (WONDERWOMAN), JP LANDMAN AND TENILLE KENNEDY (his brother, and sister from Ireland).

We are hoping to raise the funds by the end of October 2019. His procedure will be done at the MEDI CLINIC CONSTANTIABERG, CAPE TOWN.  My son resides in Cape Town, and as an epileptic, his only income is a govt, disability grant, as he is unfit to work.

Funds raised will be used to settle shortfall on medical aid, ie hospitalization, MRI scan, operation and pathology tests.

MEDICAL COSTS (BREAKDOWN):
MRI Scan R12,000
SHORTFALL ON HOSPITAL STAY R13,110
(Medical aid covers only 80% - including ICU, High Care, and Medical Ward)
CODE 6010 NRPL – EEG Monitoring for localisation of Cerebral seizure focus using computerized
CODE 6011 NRPL - Interpretation of EEG R6,400

Having funds available will help lessen the burden on the family to settle medical aid shortfalls.
