10000 eBooks For Mental Health

Personal message

Hi, my name is Jo Rust. I'm a 37-year-old aquarian, adventurer, and eternally optimistic scientist who believes in miracles, love and kindness.

I hold the world record as the first woman to have circumnavigated the African continent on a motorcycle, solo. A journey that saw me cover 45 000 kilometers (28 000 miles), through 28 countries, over a period of a year. A journey I undertook to fight against my own mental illnesses.

I wrote a book about my journey and am now selling it as an ebook on my website as a way of raising funds to apply to med school and for the Mental Health 4 All foundation. An NPO I have founded that stands for providing people with free, easily accessible mental health care and resources. We are currently running a campaign on CHANGE dot ORG. A petition to implement mandatory mental health education in schools throughout South Africa. Anyone can join the campaign by signing the petition HERE.

Since completing my journey around Africa, I have become a motivational speaker, been a brand ambassador for both BMW Motorrad and KTM Motorcycles. I've qualified as the first internationally certified female off-road instructor in Africa. Fourth in the world. I've owned my own adventure motorcycle training and touring business. And named one of the 74 most influential motorcyclists of the century.

All whilst battling mental illness.

I've suffered from mental illnesses since age 7, and have spent my life with the single purpose of trying to understand why I think, feel, and react the way I do to certain triggers in my life.

Through decades of reading, studying, tons of experience, and finally receiving professional help, I have managed to learn how to better cope with severe social anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, depression, Complex PTSD, dissociative disorder, and suicidal ideation.

50% of funds raised through the '10 000 eBooks for Mental Health' project will go towards the Mental Health 4 All foundation. An NGO I founded that aims to provide people all over the world with much-needed care, information, and tools on how to better deal with mental illness on a daily basis. Mental Health 4 All Website. Funds raised will be applied towards our mission of having mental health education implemented in all schools throughout South Africa, as well as partnering with professionals to provide free mental health care, and the organisation of our annual suicide awareness march.

The remaining 50% of funds raised will go towards helping me apply for, and complete a degree in psychology, after which I hope to enter medical school to ultimately specialize as a psychiatrist.

All funds raised will be paid into the Mental Health 4 All NPC bank account.

I now dedicate my life to helping others who suffer from mental illness - through sharing all my knowledge and experience by way of offering online coaching, an online training course, and corporate coaching. As an author through articles I publish on my website, social media channels, Medium, and The Elephant Journal. I'm also busy writing my second book. (Title to be announced) And as a motivational speaker. Equipping people from all walks of life with information, tips, tools, and techniques I've learned and acquired over the last few decades on how to better deal with mental illness.

I believe that every single person on this planet should have free access to mental health education and resources.

I have an unquenchable passion for both joining the fight to help end the stigmatization of mental illness and helping individuals around the world by equipping them with the necessary information and tools to better deal with mental illness.

We all need a little help in the pursuit of reaching our goals. I am eternally grateful for your help in attaining mine.

For only R50 (US$3.50) - You will receive a download link to my ebook: "Woman Alone Around Africa". Every 10th person to donate will also receive an autographed photograph of the cover of my book sent to you wherever you are in the world.

I really appreciate your time and attention.
