Personal message

Jonathan Benjamin and I, Ben Carlyle, are two nineteen year old guys who are both taking a gap year after finishing matric at the end of last year. We have decided to take a trip up Mount Kilimanjaro as part of our gap year experience.

In order to add some excitement to the journey, Jono has decided to ride down the mountain on a unicycle (a one-wheeled bicycle with a fixed axel and no gears). This is a first for Kilimanjaro as nobody has attempted to descend it on a unicycle before.

The fantastic thing about Jono’s crazy choice of transport is that it enables us to raise funds and awareness for an NPO called Inclusive Education South Africa (IESA).

IESA works to ensure that ALL children have their right to a meaningful education acknowledged, regardless of any barriers to learning that they might be experiencing. They do this by providing support and training for educators, early childhood development practitioners, parents, whole school communities and other NGO's on Inclusive Education. IESA does most of its work in poorer communities who are often not fortunate enough to have access to the same kind of support and resources that were available to Jon and me during our school years. As an NPO, IESA provides its support and training free of charge which means that they rely on funding and donations in order to be able to continue to offer their services to those who need them most.

Whilst we will be promoting IESA for all we are worth, we also want to give you a chance to get involved through this donations page. Any amount will mean the world to us.
