Help Kaitlin get to the World Para-Pole Championships

Personal message

My name is Kaitlin Rawson and I am a 21-year-old university student and pole dancer. I live in Sandton, Gauteng.

I am fundraising to go to the World Pole Sports Championship in Canada in October this year. The Championship takes place from the 3rd to the 6th of October 2019.

In 2016 I fell while pole dancing and broke my neck. As I result I suffered from incomplete quadriplegia.

This is a link to a video about my recovery process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=femgwk_S87g&t=111s

Over the past two and a half years I have worked, trained and competed in a number of competitions.

2nd place Pole Battle 2018

3rd place Pole Art 2018

2nd place Pole Battle 2019

2nd place Pole Art 2019

This year I entered the South African National Pole Sports Competition in the Para Pole category. This event is a qualifier for the World Pole Sports Championship and I managed to qualify with a score of 30.9. I am currently the ranked second in the PPM1 (able to walk) ParaPole category.

All money raised will be used to cover the cost of my training and the cost involved in travelling to Canada.

The breakdown of how the money will be spent is as follows:

+- R25 000 - flights to Montreal for myself and someone to accompany me

+- R8 000 - accommodation in Montreal

+- R5000 - visa costs

+- R3000 - food while in Montreal

+- R1000 - competition outfit

+- R1000 - South African tracksuit

+- R1000 - competition entry fee

+- R1000 - transport in Montreal

+- R4000 - monthly chiropractor/physio appointments

+- R4000 - coaching and routine choreography

The money for flights, accommodation, etc. will be paid to me and the money needed for my coaching/training and routine choreography will be transferred directly to Pole Studio I train at which is Vertical Vixen by BackaBuddy.

Going to the World Pole Sports Championships is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I would be so grateful to get the chance to represent my country!
