KASCA UPCOMING WOMEN IN THE TOWNSHIPS ARTISTS FESTIVAL

Personal message

We are writing this request to seek funding and co-sponsorship support for the KASCA UPCOMING WOMEN IN THE TOWNSHIPS ARTISTS FESTIVAL.

This project is a 3 month event that will take place over 6 months, with events happening every other month in 3 different townships in the Province of Gauteng. African Excellence is imperative for our artists to compete and achieve. This festival will offer a voice to represent generational and a new African mentality, but also a different kind approach to building our cultural heritage.

The festival focuses its mission on creating a platform for unrepresented women in the townships who are performing artists and need exposure and introduction into the entertainment industry in South Africa. Whether within our own communities or nationally, many of these women desire and want to be known, heard and developed into excellent performers. We need practice on all levels. These female artists want to be taken seriously and want to be respected, however there are few opportunities presented for this to take place for their careers.

For an artist to participate in the festival she must submit a demo and bio sample to the festival organizers and their work will reviewed and selections for the festival will be made. If good she will be selected and take part of the event in their township. All forms of performance is encouraged; Comedians shall send small clips, DJ's 30 minutes mix cd's, Bands sample of music and Singers a sample of music.
