My name is Lungelo, I'm a 24-year-old young man from rural KZN. My family consists of my mother and a younger brother who I'm fundraising for.
My passion lies in numbers, I qualified as a CA(SA) in the current year and currently studying towards my third degree being a BSc in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science through UNISA.
My mother is a teacher and the only person responsible for us. She has sacrificed her dreams so we can pursuit ours. I made it through UCT by student loans that got converted to bursaries because of my academic performance. Over the past 3 years, I have been responsible for my brother's fees and most of the family's expenses.
I want my brother to be able to pursue his passion as I did mine but I'm so stretched that I can't help him with a tour that he's been selected for and dying to go on.
My brother, Khumbulani, most important love is soccer. He lives, breaths and if he could would eat soccer. He's really good at it too and is the captain of his team and has a few MVP certificates from his school.
He's been selected for the PMB High Schools Football Association tour to Europe early 2020 and he needs cash which I can't afford to pay at this point in time. I want him to get an opportunity to try himself out in a new environment and see how far he can get with this.
The tour is leaving 20th-29th March 2020 and will be visiting Manchester, Liverpool, Brenton on Trent and London.
We need to raise funds as follows:
15/09/2019 - R5 000
30/10/2019 - R15 0000
30/11/2019 - R15 000
30/01/2020 - balance
Total is R44 950 based on an exchange rate of R18:20: GBP 1
Funds will be used as follows:
Tour Price R37 374
Airport tax R7 236
Khumbulani is a committed boy who always gives his best, especially on the field! Should he get this opportunity, he gets to pursue a lifelong passion of his. Isn't that what life is about - seeing what you can make from your passions.
