Personal message

Ten of our hardworking, butt-kicking karate Sensei's and martial arts practitioners will complete the Spar Women's Race on 26 May 2019 on behalf of Kids Kicking Cancer. Our goal is to raise enough funds to enable young cancer fighters to continue accessing free martial arts classes and therein learn the mental combat skills to fight their illness and WIN!!

By sponsoring R 1 per meter, (50 000 meters) you will enable each of ten participants to complete the 5 km event! Thank you for your contribution to this very worthy cause!

Kids Kicking Cancer (KKC) is an organization new to South Africa, supported by a 20 year footprint in the USA and with current programmes in 48 hospitals across 5 countries serving many hundreds of young cancer patients.

Our programme focuses on using the inherent power of martial arts to empower children and youth in their fight against cancer and other life threatening diseases. By way of facilitation and instruction with highly qualified Sensei's, our beneficiaries learn to harness the force of a meditative mindset coupled with controlled, focused breathing to deliver "Power, Peace and Purpose", a method which is proven to reduce anxiety and ease pain. Instruction takes place within the context of martial arts classes and bedside interventions.

At present KKC is active in provincial public hospitals in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town and hopes to expand its footprint to regions where cancer sufferers have limited access to treatment and additional support.
