KZN Storm Relief

KZN Storm Relief

Personal message

Being warm under proper shelter, without hunger, is a luxury that hundreds in South Africa will not feel today!

The area from the South Coast to the North Coast of Kwazulu-Natal was severely affected by a massive storm on 10 October 2017 with winds reaching up to 70km/h and flooding on major roads as well as the inner city and extensive damage to properties throughout the affected areas.

We extend an appeal to all, many of whom are family members or friends of the people living in these areas, to contribure any amount towards this relief fund set up by Angel Projects, to support and assist these organisations in their efforts to repair damage from the storm, replace damaged goods as well as provide food and blankets to over 4 000 homeless and destitute people, including children, in Durban.

Durban Child and Youth Care Centre is one of many children's homes that have been damaged by the storm. Not only do they need to repair damage to the properties, but there are children who had to move out of their rooms because of the flooding.

Angel Projects works closely with the non-profit organisations in Durban and surrounding areas and we aim to assist with the relief needs through this campaign, such as:

  • Extra-long extension cords
  • Double adapters
  • 2 Plate stoves
  • A tumble dryer
  • Emergency rechargeable lights
  • To cover the expense of a tree feller to cut up 4 trees that have fallen
  • Repair a section of boundry wall that was damaged by fallen trees
  • Blankets
  • Non-perishable goods
