Compu-WizKidz after school program

Personal message

My name is Letlaka Mphuthi , im 32 years old, from South africa, in the Free state a small town called Qwa Qwa, im the founder of compu-wizkidz, which is an after school program dedicated to teaching children about technology. We have a few computers i built myself , a mini library.

Our program started early in 2019, i have converted my old garage into a small media center, equipped with about 10 computers and a small library ,  i started this to help curb illiteracy in my area and highlight the importance of  technology in the mordern era, our computer lessons are diffrdiff from the conventional way of teaching computer to children, we introduce them to things such as programming and the hardware side of the computer at a young age, we have children as young as 7 years old who are already show great potential, but since everything is self funded, we meet a lot of financial constraints, we have a shortage of computers, we need to print daily exercises for the children  , we need a projector for lessons and our space is limited due to the high number of children that are interested in the program.

Our main target is to expand the program, to a bigger site and get enough computers, emough that each child gets their own computer, this program has already shown great potential in just a few months the number of children keeps escalating, we are proud to announce all our children have passed with flying colors, ever since joining the program their grades have impoved, we plan to introduce this program to other isolated areas, we believe each child needs to be well equipped with technological skills in these mordern times where technology rules everything, we maybe in a rural area but we want to create a technology savvy community.

Our main priority right now is getting more computers, what i do is buy old 2nd computers and computer parts and build them, we desperately need a printer for our daily activities for the children, we also need a projector, it has been very difficult to have children gather around me to see first how i do things, it would be more ideal if we had a projector so they can see whatever i do properly, we also need more chairs and tables for our children, we have about 50 children crammped into a place that is built to occupy atleast half that number , should we gather enough funds we will expand into a bigger area,

Funds raised will be paid into the beneficiaries bank account.
