Personal message

Hello everyone, my name is Jade, and I am reaching out to you today to share my boyfriend Liam's story and ask for your support in our fundraising efforts.

On the night of September 15th, Liam was involved in a terrible bike accident. While we were fortunate to have medical aid, we did not have insurance to cover the expenses related to the accident.

Liam is currently in the ICU ward recovering from the injuries he sustained. After being rushed to Hospital A, he underwent several procedures to address internal bleeding, a punctured lung, a damaged liver, a fractured wrist, and a severely damaged leg that was causing a restriction on blood flow. His spleen had to be removed to stop the internal bleeding, and a chest tube was inserted to drain fluid from his lung. Thankfully, the doctors at Hospital B were able to save his leg and restore blood flow.

In addition to these injuries, Liam also suffered lacerations on both his hands, a fractured left wrist, and broken knuckles. His leg, specifically his kneecap, required an open wound for a few days to alleviate swelling.

This entire experience has been incredibly challenging for both of us. Liam is in extreme pain, and it's something we never expected to face. Despite the difficulties, we are staying strong through prayer and our beliefs.

Liam had recently started a new job in the middle of August, so our financial situation is already strained. Now, with his medical expenses and ongoing treatments, it has become even more difficult to cover everything on a single income.

October 16th, Liam underwent surgery to remove the external fixator in his leg. The doctor was pleased with the progress so far, but Liam is still unable to walk. Unfortunately, the medical aid does not cover the cost of an MRI scan, which is necessary to assess the extent of the muscle and ligament damage in his entire lower leg.

As you know, hospital bills, particularly in private hospitals, can be overwhelming. We need your help to raise funds for the essential scans Liam needs. Every donation, regardless of the amount, will make a tremendous difference in our lives.

As well as Liam has 4 doctors working on him in which we need to and have been seeing 2-3 doctors a week for follow up in which the medical aid does not cover anymore and costs R600 - R1000 each time we need to see them ... as anyone can imagine it all adds up and leaves me in a position I cannot afford to continue pay that as I do not have it

It is challenging for me to gather the funds on my own, as we are now relying on a single income. If you find it in your heart to contribute to our cause, I kindly ask that you please consider making a donation. Your support means the world to us as we navigate this difficult journey.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and we appreciate any assistance you can provide.

Hi everyone, my name is Jade, and I have decided to try and raise a fundraiser for my fiancé Liam,

on 15 September 2023, Liam was involved in a horrible bike accident.

This past month  has been the hardest days of our entire lives. From the accident scene, he was rushed to Hospital A  where they had to stop internal bleeding, a punctured lung, damaged liver fractured wrist, and a very badly damaged leg which was causing a clamp on his main archery going down on his leg.

I ask if you find in your heart that you feel as if you would want to donate anything towards helping us being able to get these scans done.
