My name is Karlien Oberholster, 31 from Johannesburg. I am raising funds for my sister Lindé Oberholster, age 35 from Pretoria.
My sister Lindé (35) is a single mother of a 9-year boy, she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer back in 2015. She has since had a mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and a hysterectomy in 2016 and 2017, but unfortunately, the cancer metastasized to her bones leading to fractures.
She has been fighting cancer for the last 4 years, every single day. She has been in unbearable pain the last couple of weeks, making it very difficult for her to stay strong, she is going for more radiation therapy now to try and assist with her pain. Her fractured bones are putting pressure on her spinal cord resulting into paralyses, and it is getting worse by the day. She does not have medical aid and unfortunately, public hospitals are not equipped to do the required procedure. We have consulted with another neurosurgeon in Pretoria who will be able to perform the procedure, but it will cost between R450k and R500k.
Please help us to support Lindé to get the help she needs to avoid permanent paralyses, to give her the best possible quality of life to spend with her son Dylan, her friends and her family.
We would like to raise the funds by 16/09/2019
I do not have a specific break down, but will share once received. It is between surgeons, theater and hospital recovery.
It will give my sister a chance to walk again and decrease the amount of pain she is in every day, to increase her quality of life to spend time with her son Dylan.
Funds will go for her spinal operation to avoid permanent paralysis.
