My name is Linzel Cloete. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 26, had a double mastectomy and 8 rounds of aggressive chemotherapy. I was in remission for one year. On my birthday 7 May 2018, a day after my wedding I was told by my oncologist that cancer spread to both lungs and they can't cure it, it is stage 4 already. They can try to keep me pain-free and try to extend my life through chemotherapy and various tablets. I'm from the Northern Cape in Buffelsrivier but stay in Koingnaas with my husband. I'm not allowed to work anymore and it makes things difficult.
My basic needs are just to live. I need funding so that I can continue with my treatment and I'm not ready to give up yet. The medical aid we have does not cover everything. Oncology benefits are also not very much and Savings are exhausted so all extra medications we must pay for. My husband is the sole provider in the house and we just can't afford treatment and actually living a normal life with food and we don't have our own house so we are renting.
I have terminal cancer so I need like a lifetime funding. I must travel 600km every month for treatment and as I said then we must still live, it's not easy at all.
Funds raised will be used
To cover my medical bills.
Cover expenses like petrol to go to Cape Town to get treatment.
To live and have a plate of food every night.
To lessen my financial stress as stress and cancer are the biggest enemies
I am applying for myself. Firstly it will give me quality of life because stress will be lesser. According to medici, I have less than 5 years to live, I respect their statistics but I believe in God and I want to fight till my body say I can't anymore. I won't have to worry about, food, rent, petrol money or medical bills.
*Funds raised will be transferred directly to the relevant medical practitioner/organisation.*
