My name is Claudelle Scholtz (33) and I live in Eldoraldo Park, Johannesburg.
I have set up this campaign for my daughter, Little Teygon who is just over 1 year old and has cerebral palsy.
Little Teygon is diagnosed with cerebral palsy and all four limbs are affected. All this is unfortunately because of hospital negligence. I had a normal pregnancy but due to delivery delays, she was deprived of oxygen.
My baby is turning 2-years-old and she cannot walk, talk, eat normally as yet. So she needs a lot of equipment to assist her daily by walking, sitting, eating.
I am, however, the only parent that is currently working. My husband is not able to work because he needs to stay at home to care for her, we are very reliant on the medical aid but there are a lot of things that are not covered of which I cannot afford. I am the breadwinner and also need to pay for my other daughter Payton's (9) school and day to day necessities. We are battling financially to also get Teygon to and from the hospital in Sunninghill.
I want my baby to live a normal life like a normal child with her disability
and hope to raise funds to support her by the end of the year and before she turns 3 as the brain slows down after 3-years-old and learning to walk and to stand become more difficult.
Funds will go directly to the purchase of her monthly medication as she uses antiseizure meds, spams meds and other chronic medications for constipation as she's on a feeding tube, special need wheels chair, walker, hand splint and the feeding tube equipment needs to be changed every 3 months. She also needs to go for physiotherapy, speech therapy, and OT every week.
Little Teygon will stand a good chance to live a normal lifestyle with the help of her equipment and this will relieve me a bit financially.
*BackaBuddy will administer funds directly to her physiotherapy, occupational therapy, medication, equipment providers*
