A Conference Goal

A Conference Goal

Personal message

My name is Luyanda Makoba. I am a masters student at the University of KwaZulu Natal and I live in Nazareth, Pinetown.

A communications, media and culture masters student hopes to present the findings from my masters dissertation at The South African Communications Association's annual conference. The conference will be held in August 2020 at the University of Cape Town.

This conference is very important in the communications postgraduate academic calendar as it presents the opportunity to present your research work as well as network with peers from other university & research

The total amount I will need is ZAR 8 300
This will go to:
Travel : R4500
Accommodation : R 1200 (R400 * 3 nights)
Food and daily expenses: R600 (R200 per day)
Registration for Conference: R2000

This campaign will allow me to further my career hopes of becoming an academic. It will also allow me t network with other students and academics within my academic discipline.

If I’m unable to raise the funds, I’ll use the money I’ve raised from back-a-buddy to purchase menstrual ad pads & donate them to girls who are in need. (This also coincides with my research)

*Funds raised will go to the conference organiser at UKZN*
