Personal message

Movement of advocacy group in southern Africa (MAGSA) is a non-profit making organization, duly registered with the government of South Africa on the 7th June 2017 under certificate registration number 190- 622 NPO. Our organization is based in Johannesburg. Our mission is to alleviate documentation to all undocumented immigrants in the SADC region living in South Africa that may provide a workable solution. We advocate respect for human rights and use a holistic approach that considers all basic needs and women empowerment is one of our products.

The women empowerment project will be managed by the MAGSA women forum desk through National coordinator  Lucy Mary Chima  Mkandawire. The main aim of this project is to empower vulnerable migrant women to stand up for their rights and reduce Home-based violence (HBV) that is escalating in all provinces in South Africa. Due to this covid-19 pandemic most migrant women have lost their jobs and can not get employed because of not having proper documents hence, they became vulnerable and harassed by their spouses.

MAGSA forum desk shall set up 4 centers in the following provinces; CPT, KZN, NW, and Gauteng to train these women in tailoring and designing for sustainable livelihood. These women will be trained and become responsible in their communities. The skills and knowledge imparted will prepare them to be sustainable so that when they graduate from this training, they can eventually transform the likelihood of their families and communities they come from and be the role models in their respective provinces at large hence it will reduce Home-based violence.

MAGSA women forum desk is to empower 1000 within the space period of  13 months (1yr and 1 month) which will be divided into 3 terms. MAGSA shall establish a school of excellence in South Africa on the same after the graduation of 1000 participates in order to expand the program and reach many.

The raised funds will be used in project planning, stakeholders meeting, press briefing, identification of beneficiaries, trainers and interview of trainers, procurement of goods, project launching, training, graduation, monitoring, evaluation, and report submission to donors and stakeholders. This shall help us to deliver positive outcomes.
