Mandela Day Hero Tree - 2015

Mandela Day Hero Tree - 2015

Personal message

This year to celebrate Mandela day we are Re- yarn bombing our Jacaranda Tree outside the AIDS Centre. The tree will be made up of 1000 crocheted squares, crocheted by the crafters of Woza Moya and community members from donated wool scraps. Leading up to Mandela Day the Woza Moya beaders will give their 67 minutes by sewing squares for the tree together. We will be up the tree again on Friday the 16th and 17th of July in a cherry picker, sponsored by Professional Access rentals.

Each square celebrates one hero - nominated by you, this can be someone from the past or present  - a great friend, a mom or dad, a great teacher, or someone that has inspired you, all the hero’s will be recognized on a board next to the tree that will go up on the 18th of July.

Click on donate, and in the message part nominate your hero! Any donation big or small count! Each donation will go towards securing beds in our respite unit. It cost R200 a day, R6000 a month and we have 24 beds!
