I am Matambele Thembuluwo, 26 years of age. I live in Limpopo province, outside Thohoyandou.
I am a student at the University of South Africa (UNISA), doing a Bachelor of Education degree
I am working part-time at a retail store, earning an average salary of R2000 a month. I'm struggling to pay for my fees as I am living with an unemployed and unemployable single parent (mother) and other children who also depend on me. I tried to apply for bursaries but I got nothing.
I tried to apply for study loans but I don't qualify as I earn a very low salary. I am hoping to get a bursary next year. If I don't pay the registration fee of R6660 (amount of previous semester plus of this semester) my registration will be canceled. I can't afford to drop out because I'm 100% sure that I passed all my modules for the first semester, and time is not on my side.
I have until 31 August to pay, and the longer I delay, I'll be behind.
I need to raise the funds by the 29 August 2019.
I will be able to continue with my studies so that next year I can find SACE certificate and try my luck on being a part-time teacher in a private school because mathematics teachers are in demand.
It's the only way I am gonna move away from poverty for good.
*The funds raised will be transferred directly to the UNISA*
