Mile-building opportunity from St Helena to Cape Town - Jan 2019

Personal message

An opportunity for skippers or crew wanting to do some mile building on the 39’ Tosca, Rotary Scout in January 2019 when she returns from St Helena after completing the race to the island has just oppened and I need funds in order to apply. The anticipated departure date is 12 January and the voyage back to Cape Town will take two to three weeks (weather dependent of course) for the 1700nm journey.

There will be a maximum of 8 crew on the vessel and all of the crew will be given the opportunity to take full responsibility for her as part of their trip, overseen by the very capable Peter Bosch, an SAS Yachtmaster who has completed three trips to St Helena. Peter also participated in the Cape2Rio Race on three occasions. There will be ample opportunity to learn a great deal about ocean sailing and gain some very worthwhile experience on the trip.

Costs: R10 000 which includes food on the yacht and the flight to St Helena Bay will be approximately R8000.  I will also need spending money.
