Hi there, my name is Monique du Preez. I am a 32-year-old teacher from Cape Town. I love to stay fit and healthy and would like to be a role model for my school children.
I have the worst luck when it comes to my teeth. I have been in and out of dentists since before I can even remember.
When I was about 15 years old I had to have an implant placed, as a last resort for one of my front teeth. At that point in my life, my parents were able to help me out financially and they did until they couldn't anymore. Since then, I have had to pay for about 8 dental implants, and one crown, since that was all I could afford.
I have been on a waiting list at our government hospital dental facility, Tygerberg Hospital, to sort out the work that still needs to be done, crowns, bridges, etc, for over three years running now and finally, the ball has started rolling. The reason for going to the government hospital is because they would be much cheaper than going to private practice. So, I went ahead with that, with the knowledge that the total bill will be much cheaper than what I originally thought. They have just placed one implant for me and they have hit me with the bill of all the work that still needs to be done. HELP PLEASE!!!
This is a breakdown I have received from Tygerberg Hospital

With the help of your donations, I will be able to smile again, talk properly and confidently. I will be able to afford to put money away again so that I can further my studies.
*Funds raised will go directly to Tygerberg Hospital*
