Mpolweni Mission Tornado Relief Effort

Personal message

In the aftermath of the tornado that hit Mpolweni, outside of Wartburg on the 12th of November, hundreds of community members between New Hanover and Pietermaritzburg, have been left been left destitute; without shelter or food.

More than 15 000 residents and first responders have also been without power as Eskom's Mersey substation was highly affected by the twister.

To support the individuals affected by the Tornado, humanitarian aid group Gift of the Givers has joined relief efforts in the area.

To contribute to essential items needed on the ground, such as building materials, clothing, blankets, food parcels, bottled water, stationery, diapers, hygiene and sanitary pads please support our BackaBuddy campaign.

Funds raised will be transferred to the Gift of The Givers, who are on the ground to help those in need.
