MSB Nitros FC Boot Drive

Personal message

My name is Tauriq Hassen and I am 30 years of age and I am from Woodstock. I became involved in football as I thought I had what it takes to keep kids off the street and playing football.

I work mostly in the township areas and the boys are from Gugulethu, Khayelitsha, Langa and all over. We have football clinics in these areas and also established an academy in Nyanga. This project started with 8 boys in a rundown tennis court back in 2014. Today, we have more than 120 boys from all over Cape Town, mostly from underprivileged backgrounds.

The boys are our main inspiration behind all of this.
We are hoping to raise the funds ASAP. We need to target the next month or so. We are attracting more and more players - our policy is not to turn anybody away but to encourage them to be part of our growth. Who knows what they will get up to if we turn them away - it kind of defeats our purpose in a way - HENCE why fundraising so important.

Most of the funds will go towards purchasing boots for players who do not have proper playing boots.

We will then purchase shin pads and other equipment, especially balls, with the aim of purchasing 100 to support our numbers.

With the remaining funds, we are looking to get our feeding scheme off the ground.

We hope more boys will come through our doors and we will be able to assist more by providing a positive platform for kids to develop.

Funds will be used on the boys to purchase boots and much need equipment for the club.
