Mending Chronicles Translation

Hi, I am Lana.  My friend Natalie Knox is a teacher and a counselor with a special gifting for helping kids cope with the emotional challenges and confusion that come with divorce.

Simple things like feeling as if they are taking sides, but they love both parents or feeling like they aren't loved because a parent has left. Healing from these fears and feelings is possible. And happens faster with the right tools to work through what it is they are feeling and believing.

Natalie self-published a resource book called the Mending Chronicles of Liam & Emily, and I would love to have this translated into Afrikaans.

As a resource, this book can be used by all family members and can be a first stop or addition to other counseling if needed.

This is what Natalie says:

‘The Mending Chronicles of Liam and Emily’ is a divorce recovery handbook for kids with a Christian message. Liam and Emily take the reader on a journey of their own divorce story which includes a host of emotions and common responses to this big life event. The book is packed with fun activities that help the reader to process and reflect on their own experience of divorce. A big emphasis on emotional intelligence ensures that kids are equipped to communicate effectively with those around them which promotes improved relationships and good emotional health.

Currently ‘The Mending Chronicles’ is only available in English but there has been a demand for an Afrikaans book for the South African audience. Help us to fund this worthwhile translation project.

The funds raised through this campaign will cover the cost of:

  • a translator
  • an editor
  • a proofreader
  • a designer
  • the first print run
  • marketing

The Mending Chronicles of Liam and Emily was a finalist in the USA’s 14th National Indie Excellence Awards. We trust that with your help, we can produce an Afrikaans version that is of the same award-winning quality.

“Natalie tenderly leads the reader and child through a range of possible emotions which undoubtedly will help children identify and talk about their deepest fears. Along with the spiritual wisdom and guidance from the story of Liam and Emily, this book has the capacity to ensure children develop a healthy strategy for life as they negotiate change.” Carolyn Rae, Director Hope Counselling, Scotland
