Nathan is a 15-year-old boy Nathan was diagnosed with T1 diabetic in 2013. He attended the West Rand school due to him also having ADHD where he was doing very well. The school had a school sister onsite that was able to assist him with his diabetic on a day to day basis. The classes were kept small with an average of 12 children per class. In 2018 Nathan then stared his high school career at high school. Unfortunately, he did not make it through 2018 and has to repeat his Grade 8 year in the same school. Nathan struggled due to very large classes (30-40 per class) as well as having ketones (Extremely high and low sugar levels) and no one on one interaction.
Nathan’s family has come across an amazing home school through a church by the name of Koinonia Christian Sentrum. Things are starting to look up for the family as there is allot more one on one interaction with the learners as well as small classes. The home school is called Jad Jahwe Leersentrum based in Pretoria.
The school fees are very reasonable at R700 per month which Nathan’s family can easily afford. The Impac fees are R10 067.00 which would be for all his books for the year. Unfortunately, this is a very steep amount of money and the family are not in a position to afford that at this point with Nathan about to be a big brother.
*Funds raised will be transferred directly to Impac*
