Personal message

#NOTINMYNAMESA is enervated over the incessant abuse of power by people in positions of authority. Recently, Cheryl Zondi testified to having been a victim of charismatic televangelist Timothy Omotoso's abuse of power - he sexually assaulted her.

Based on our current location, we are unable to sufficiently support Zondi, and other women like her, throughout the ordeal and thus require the following:

  • Transport
  • Accomodation
  • Food

Additionally, we would like to visit necessary families and enquire about how we can offer the necessary support they require in order to assist them with moving forward. We acknowledge that a crime of this nature cannot be rectified and is the equivalent of murder, however, where we can help, we would be honoured to. Ours is to serve.

Not In My Name South Africa (NIMNSA), is a movement that focuses on sustainable positive changes in the lives of ordinary South Africans. We are a counter veiling force to those who are intent on undermining our civil liberties and constitution. We mobilize sectors, organisations and ordinary individuals to stand up against any form of social injustices.

NIMNSA aims to strengthen the foundations of our democracy by standing up for the rights of women and be an advocacy group against femicide, rape culture and commoditising of women and children. This was the main reason the movement was formed, to increase awareness of this pandemic in South Africa. To educate and enlighten perpetrators and potential perpetrators with the intention of changing mind sets. However, we later decided to be more than a gender based violence activism group because gender based violence is perpetuated by other socio economic factors, NIMNSA was transformed into a civil rights movement.

NIMNSA addresses social issues in general. We aim to instil a sense of activism among ordinary citizens in the long term. We want to assist citizens in handling issues of public dissatisfaction in a non-destructive manner. Our focus is to empower South Africans to understand and use the power they possess through the constitution.

NIMNSA is a non-governmental Non Profit Company registered with the CIPC and the Department of Social Development. The movement was established and officially launched in May 2017.
