Olney Fashions

Personal message

I started Olney fashions in Dec 2018.

Olney fashions provide South African designers with a platform to showcase their product in a prime retail boutique in the heart of the Mother City Cape Town supported by professional retail infrastructure.

We currently showcase, stock and retail around 18 proudly SA brands and we need your help to keep us in business so that all the small business we support and their families also stay in business.

We cover the key elements required for a low-risk entry into the market and facilitation to scale your businesses to create profit and longevity.

Some of these key elements are:

  • location, sourcing & site renewal negotiations
  • International clients and distribution of product, potentially both physical and online
  • start-up & operating cost savings
  • marketing
  • people & staffing
  • reporting
  • stock management
  • Bopis model ( bought online picked up in-store )
  • Ropis model (reserve online purchased in-store )

Besides all the hours and hard work that was put into building the business, I have put all my personal saving into this business. We employ 2 wonderful ladies and have a lot of potential for growth. I am not sure though that we will survive this lockdown and the economic impact it has on the business already. I have really done everything in our power to make this business successful. If it was not for lockdown, we would have been afloat. Yes, we have applied for funding through all the available channels, but there is absolutely no certainty.

We really do need help from all our friends and family, and if you can't contribute, please share the cause to someone who might be able to assist. This is the lifeline of 18 proudly SA small business that we also support and their dreams as well Please help our business to get through lockdown because of COVID 19.

Reaching our target will mean that the business will be a viable successful business after lockdown. We will be able to live up to our values of making a difference to small local proudly SA designers.

The funds raised will be used to cover our overheads, salaries for staff (excluding myself) rent contribution and everything that needs to be paid for min 3 months. This will give us the time to recover from lockdown and the economic impact thereof.
