Cupcakes for Pangolins was started in November 2022, after seeing the number of Pangolins that were poached and the horrific conditions they were in, when they were rescued. Dr Debbie English at Provet Wildlife Services & Animal Hospital in Hoedspruit, South Africa has been instrumental in treating these poor animals, but the costs are exhorbitant. It can cost up to R15 000 a week for hospitalisation.

There are organisations who help with donations, but this takes a lot of time and paperwork. Unfortunately it is nowhere near enough money, to what is needed. And in the meanwhile the Pangolins keep coming in and costs keep rising.

Recently a Pangolin was received that had 7 broken ribs, a broken tail and was extremely traumatised. The recovery for this innocent animal will take months.

Once they have been treated by Provet they go to a rehabilitation centre where they are prepared for full release. Before they are released the pangolins are fitted with 2 trackers, which costs about R30 000.

We are appealing to everyone to please donate funds, big or small, to help these highly endangered animals. All monies raised go directly into helping the Pangolins.
