Protect women in the workplace

Protect women in the workplace

Personal message

The WLC seeks to launch a campaign to fund its work specifically on sexual violence and harassment of women in the workplace. Despite South Africa's rights based labour legislation, women continue to face barriers to access employment, and to secure decent and favorable working conditions. Our goal is to provide women with legal support and representation to enforce the recognition of women's rights to a safe and equal work environment. There has been an increased awareness in recent months of women's rights, but little to no adequate legal response. We aim to hold the state as well as private bodies accountable where women's rights in the workplace is violated.

The funds secured through this campaign will be used to fund legal representation, advice and support to women who are survivors of sexual violence and harassmen in the workplace.
