Chantelle and Sylcke have started taking up running as a hobby late of last year (2012). They have completed various 5km and 10km races. Jointly it was decided to step it up a little and to begin supporting a worthy cause through their jogging efforts.
Chantelle and Sylcke: "Our first event is on the 1st May 2013. We are running the SAFARI Half Marathon in Wellington. It is our first half marathon and we welcome all support through donations and/or coming to cheer us on, on the day of the event. I think we are going to need all the motivation we can get. O_0"
The Anna Foundation runs an after-school club for farm children, called the 3 R’s: Reading, Running, Right-ing. Through this programme they offer the children literacy/numeracy assistance, run sports programs, encourage right living and ultimately aim to equip these children with skills for lifelong learning.
In the farming communities there is often a sense of helplessness, apathy and farm workers often suffer from low self-esteem. The Anna Foundation aims to teach farm children that through dedication, persistence and hard work each one can become a master of his or her own destiny. In addition, women living in the farming communities are empowered by being trained and given the skills to implement the daily running of the 3 R's Programme. "We want the women to feel proud about their role as an educator, enthusiastically grow and grant them with an opportunity to better themselves."
The 3 R’s programme is currently being implemented on farms and other rural areas throughout the Western Cape, directly influencing over 650 children and training 45 community staff members.
Support these two ladies in their efforts to raise funds for this worthy cause by donating whatever amount you feel is appropriate… Check out the Anna Foundation - profile http://www.backabuddy.co.za/charity/profile/annafoundation

The Anna Foundation is all about inspiring young people and providing them with opportunities. The organisation implements afterschool programmes on farms or rural low income schools in the Western Cape, currently in the municipal districts of Stellenbosch, Cape Town, Langeberg and the Overberg. The Anna Foundation aims to empower disadvantaged rural children with life skills and core values, building self-worth and self-responsibility. The organisation’s “3Rs programme: Reading, Running, Right-ing” is implemented during after school hours and incorporates education (literacy), sports (running, riding and sports development) and life skills programmes (presented through drama). Women and men from farming communities are trained by the Anna Foundation to run their 3R’s programme, and teenager and parent workshops are also provided.
