Sage Joberg2c for Rock of Hope

Sage Joberg2c for Rock of Hope

Personal message

I am proud to be a member of the Team Sage participating in a 3-day version of the Joburg2c MTB event.

I have been given the opportunity to raise funds for a charity and selected a charity which is close to my heart. Rock of Hope a place of safety where they provide a secure, happy home environment for babies and toddlers in crisis.

I will be cycling from the 29th April to the 1st May 2019 and I will be completing 313 kilometres with an acsent of 5363m over the 3 days. Thus, in layman’s terms almost 3 Cape Town Cycle tours off-road. My aim is to create awareness of this charity whilst riding for Team SAGE and raise enough money to help these kids for a few days

"What will the funds be used for?

Tshwane Place of Safety Association

Tshwane Place of Safety Association Logo

This Association focuses on the importance of the family. They firmly believe that more and more families should be raised, equipped and supported to look after babies and toddlers in crisis. It is important that every child in need should have the opportunity to experience the love and stability provided within the family unit. By actively raising more families, crisis children will have the opportunity to become part of a family again – belonging to a home he/she can call their own.

The Tshwane Place of Safety Association screens and provides wonderful parents and special homes where an abundance of emotional, physical and spiritual care is given to babies and toddlers in crises. The association coordinates the admission and placement of children with individual families. They render a supporting service to parents as well as social workers from various welfare organisations.  The vision of the association is to provide the Place of Safety parents with as much emotional and physical support as possible. These families will only continue with their exceptional service if they are supported on an emotional level. Getting attached to children, experiencing loss and death, is very traumatic. This Association realises the importance to support the parents dealing with all these experiences.

Tshwane Place of Safety Association has admitted and placed more than 1063 children since October 2003 in the care of Place of safety families. Currently they have 100 private families taking care of 300 children in their own homes and 6 registered place of safety nurseries,

Forever Angels, Tshwane Haven, Kings Grace, Swallows Nest and Joining Hands.

Tshwane Place of Safety is a registered Section 21 Organisation as well as a Non-Profit organisation.
