We are hoping to raise funds for our SANESA Western Cape Equestrian Schools Team so that they may go to the National Championships between 3-6 October 2018 at Kyalami Equestrian Park (KEP) in Gauteng.
SANESA (South African National Equestrian Schools Association) is a non-profit organization which was established to give every school aged South African child who has access to a horse/pony, the opportunity to ride and participate in competition.
Our children stem from all walks of life within our Western Cape society; from metropolitan and inner city areas right through to smaller rural towns and farming communities. Horse riding teaches them about responsibility, loyalty and comradery between themselves, their horses and their team mates.
Our riders between 6 years and 18 years old all compete under the banner of their school. If successful during the season, they will go on to represent the WC Team at Nationals in JHB.
This year more than 120 riders qualified for the SANESA WC Provincial Team but only 50 riders have accepted their places in the team due to a lack of funding. Rider and horse travel expenses combined with the costs of team uniforms, entry fees, horse/pony stabling, accommodation, transport hire and basic daily meals during the weeks long competition in Gauteng, makes for an extremely costly annual event.
Any contribution whether it be big or small, would essentially assist our riders and even more so, help those riders who have given up on the dream of competing at a National competition.
