Save a Soul

Save a Soul

Personal message

In South Africa, COVID-19 has heralded a humanitarian disaster that is unexpected and ruthless. The secondary effects are dire, and it is possible that about 8% of the earth’s population, about 500 million people, could be pushed into starvation. Millions of civilians living in conflict-scarred nations (including many women and children) living in abject poverty, face being pushed to the brink of starvation. The economic ramifications alone of lockdowns exacerbates the existing hunger crisis. We have joined forces with the e'Pap Foundation and are sending off 750kg loads of highly nutritious porridge into remote areas, where there are few (if any) handouts. We are only supplying communities in the rural areas where we fear the real ramifications of famine will be felt most.

We will literally be able to count the souls that we save. With lockdown and with the resulting jobs that were lost, little money is being sent 'home' to where the elderly and very young live. We fear for their survival. Eating a portion of e'Pap porridge daily means that a person will get most of the recommended daily allowance of vitamins and minerals. Every donation has the potential to 'save a soul': R1000 000 will ensure that 13 333 people over the age of 6, and 26 666 Children under the age of 5 make it through this time.

The money raised will be used to purchase e'Pap, and if necessary, to courier the 750kg load to a rural area. No operational costs will be taken for this project.

Nurturing vulnerable and at-risk youth, whether they are able-bodied or differently-abled. We view children holistically, we believe a child has a greater chance if issues are tackled from more than one angle.

We alleviate poverty through networking and partnering with experts in the field. We work a lot with schools, focusing on keeping impoverished children from dropping out by augmenting maths and life skills programs.
