Sebastian's Recovery

Sebastian's Recovery

Personal message

Sebastian is 4 years old and was in an accident on Friday the 13th October, a massive heavy gate fell on his head and knocked unconscious immediately, they rushed him to hospital where he had an MRI and then was prepped for surgery immediate to fix his fractured skull & help cope the swelling on the brain.

He was kept in a coma for almost a week until they slowly reduced the sudation, on the first attempted his lungs didn’t cope on their own so they decided he needed a few more days, since then every day has shown progress, from being able to move his limbs, recognizing his family & being able to communicate through a thumbs up or down. Once Sebas was able to feed himself again the doctors believed that the best place for recovery was at home with his family.

He has been at home for a week and is improving daily, he is learning to walk, he has even been back in the pool (which is his happy place). The doctors say his recovery to this point is nothing short of a miracle, he still has many milestones to reach but every day brings more hope that OUR Sebas is still there and his little smile gives us all so much comfort.

We have been so overwhelmed by the incredible love, support and prays that have surround Sebastian and his adoring family over the last 3 weeks. It has been overwhelming for Fran & Luke to experience & to date Sebastian's recovery is a miracle and we have to believe that this has been aided by the incredible prays and positive energy that has come from all over the world.

Being so far away I have felt desperate to help in some way and I think a number of you share the same sentiment.

Fran and Luke are still in the process in understanding what will be covered by their medical aid, the one thing that we know hasn't been covered is Fran's room in the hospital, I think any parent would agree that this was a necessity rather than a luxury & I want to help them cover this cost as we haven't been able to cook a meal or drop of flowers as a small gesture of our love and support. We are unsure how much of his rehabilitation, follow up's & additional care will be covered.

Any amount raised will alleviate any pressure of additional costs that Fran & Luke may well have in the near future.

If you would like to make a contribution I know every little bit will go along way & reduce any unnecessary financial stress.
