Hello! My name is Shane Swart, currently 21 of age and residing in Pretoria. Since the tender age of around 5 years, I decided I wanted to pursue the skies and become a aviator. I've managed to pay off my first license (PPL) through working as a cadet or any other form in order to get to where I am today.
Since being a pilot was my life long dream, and coming from a home where the money required to pay for such licenses came few and far between. I took up working for flight school as a cadet until recently I got employed as an Operations Manager and PRA. However the length of time it took me to get to obtaining my PPL was indeed long, and obtaining a CPL will be tenfold harder. Therefore this brings me to this website, to try and acquire as much help as I can. To this day I have never stopped, nor will ever stop working as hard as I can to get to where my dreams told me I can go to. And for this, I ask for any assistance.
After obtaining my PPL, I have worked on quotes from the flight school I currently work at. And came to the conclusion of conducting and finishing my Night Rating in order to pursue the CPL license. After which I will be attempting the SACAA CPL exams. During the time period of exams, I will have to stay current on my PPL and therefor a few hours will be made at night. After exams, my plan was to fly as much as possible to get the hours behind me. During this period I will be using my knowledge and from help to start preparing instructors to file to which is required to obtain a instructors rating so that I can continue thereafter as an instructor.
Funds raised will help cover:
Night rating - R16 750
CPL Theory - R12 220
Hour building - R123 250
Instrument rating - R62 500
Additional cost - R3 700
Commercial License Total - R218 420
The amount made via donations will be stored in my student account I have open with Accolade Aviation, upon the receipt of an EFT, funds get indicated within the account. I am however also paying for what I can via my own salary.
Any assistance will greatly reduce the amount required and reduce the time period in which I can obtain a CPL and Instructors Rating. I will be able to have a foot in the door in the aviation industry.
