Another success story – yet we need just a bit more help please!
Siyabonga was referred to us as a 10-year-old little boy with Down Syndrome – who has never had any intervention. He lives at home with his mom, dad, and three siblings who care for him so lovingly. He is wheelchair-bound, in nappies and with no speech or language or any means of communication.
Siyabonga needed intervention – and so our amazing team did not hesitate to help! Thank you to our physio, Hayley Yudelowitz, from Ubuntu Family Health Centre, to Dr. Yair Edinburg, our GP, from Ubuntu Family Health Centre, to Shanna Louwrens, our OT from Forest Town School, Estelle Novella, our Speech Therapist, and to the audiology team at Prime Hearing (Dr. Cara Hollander) and Tamsin Geddes.
In only a short time, Siyabonga was assessed and placed in Takalani School in Soweto (after the usual battle with the Department of Education). This is a boarding school for special needs, as the family has no money for daily transport. Monthly school fees for 2020 will be R300 for schooling, and R400 for boarding – PLUS all the required toiletries and school uniform. Norman, Siyabongas dad works as a security guard, while his wife is unemployed. We thus request help for this loving family to ease the financial burden, in terms of schooling and boarding fees, as well as toiletries and his school uniform. Assistance would be so greatly appreciated!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
