HUMAN RIGHTS / HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS EVENT

‘’Know your rights. Own your life and be responsible’’

The event will be on the 23rd of March 2018 at the Siyabuswa Community hall where we’ve invited community members, different stake holders and other local NGOs to help promote human rights and also to raise awareness about Human Trafficking as we have seen that most people in our community lack knowledge about their human rights and responsibilities and also about human trafficking, as they believe it’s something happens in foreign countries.

As an organization we have noticed this misconception about Human trafficking while we were doing awareness campaigns about human trafficking in schools, churches, clinics and other public places. As an organisation we therefore agree to host a campaign on human rights day,as its one of our objectives to make/host up events, and that was an idea to unite all community members, different stake holders, local NGOs and government representative that deal with matters of human rights forum and to educate the community about their human rights and responsibilities and also to address the false idea that our community members have about human trafficking being a foreign thing.

Background

The NPO was established on the 11th of April 2016 as Wake Africa Human Trafficking Organization (WATHO) and being registered on the 5th of May 2017 after being trained by International Organization For Migration (IOM).We are the first organization that deals with combating human Trafficking in our Mpumalanga province. As  we are currently targeting three districts that is Nkangala district, Emalahleni district and Gert Sibande district along with its municipalities.

Presently we are not funded as  we are depending on contributions thàt we ask from the communities. We therefore appeal to anyone to donate/ assist us in any way in order to meet our our objective to combat human trafficking in our province.

*The campaign creator has opted for Backabuddy to directly transfer the funds to the relevant organisation*
