Colour Lab COVID-19 Relieve

Colour Lab COVID-19 Relieve

Personal message

My name is Stefan Ellis. I'm 34 years old.  I live in George, in the Western Cape. I am raising funds for my Small Salon, Colour Lab Hair Studio.

I opened my doors just over three years ago with high hopes and the passion to make a success of my very own business.

It was not easy as with any business there were more downs than ups but in the last few months, things have been going very well.

Unfortunately on the 27th of April 2020, I as many others considered non-essential businesses had to close my doors. There’s no worse feeling.

As you may now, hairdressers work commission based and so no work means no pay, not only am I as a businessman unable to make ends meet but I have staff that I am not able to support.

The pandemic has seen the formation of relief funds but due to the governance methods of those funds, I am unable to qualify for aid.

I am hopeful that this will get me the funding to pay my staff as well as to keep my rent in order such as to keep my place of business for when we can return to work.

Reaching my target will mean that not all hope is lost, I can support those who work with me, I can keep my business and I can prepare for all the necessary essentials to have in place when I do reopen.

It will allow my Small business to survive and those that depend on it as their source of income. To some, it is their only source of income they have to support their families.

The funds will only be used to relieve the financial strain on the business caused by the Covid19 pandemic Lockdown. It will be enough to help us stay in business and keep our doors open. I am mostly worried about the staff who does not have a source of income during this time. The funds will be very helpful to still pay their salaries and provide for their families, while still ensuring they have a job after the lockdown has ended and restrictions are lifted.
