Steph Gribben - Half Marathon for Innovation Hub

Steph Gribben - Half Marathon for Innovation Hub

Personal message

Since I've moved to Cape Town, I've always wanted to run the Two Oceans Half Marathon, which is arguably the most beautiful run in the world. Cape Town is full of mountainous hills and sea breeze - this run both excites and scares me but I'm so ready to finally do it this year! I will be running on Easter Weekend.

I've finally found a Cause that has motivated me to train regularly with a conviction that I'm sowing every kilometre into helping build lives through our Innovation Hubs.

Due to a long-standing relationship with the community of Gugulethu, building an Innovation Hub is the next logical step to offer a premium experience to combat youth unemployment and to strengthen families. This will be a mixed-use space that not only creates an attractive urban environment in the community, but also houses a range of programs in which people can be equipped to connect to the local and global economy.

I've been honoured to collaborate on this project and my heart is more and more invested in it daily. I help spearhead the Entrepreneurship & Employability Program Team for the Innovation Hub, laying the ground work for the programs, opportunities, and networks with other organisations in the city to see the vision come to life.

The dream is to build Innovation Hubs in communities across South Africa and I could not be more excited to see this vision come to life!

The Hillsong Africa Foundation (HAF) has been active in building lives in communities in
South Africa since 2010. Our vision is simple and clear: “Building lives that will build the Nation".

Through the involvement of many volunteers HAF is currently actively impacting the lives of more than
1,800 people every week through over 40 projects in 9 different communities in South Africa.

We are racing towards deepening the impact in our target communities by introducing brand new Innovation Hubs where young people will be able to learn, grow and be inspired to be the best they can be!
