Tashrique's cricket journey

Tashrique's cricket journey

Personal message

My name is Holger Wolfram and I am the teacher of Tashrique Dryden at the German school, Cape Town. Tashrique is a nice, polite young gentleman in grade 9, he got a bursary for our school and he really is a very talented and committed cricket player.

Tashrique was selected for a cricket tournament and journey to Malaysia, but the club is only catering for the equipment, food, and accommodation.

The father has to raise R 25 000 (!) for the flight tickets/costs. Tasrique's father only managed to get R 5000, he is working now as an Uber driver and has no means to pay for the journey. I could raise about R 9000 Rand at the school from friends and colleagues, but there is still an outstanding amount of R 11000.

I know this is not an absolutely necessary journey but Tashrique's mother passed away two years ago, Tashrique's (and his fathers) life is the cricket, and Tashrique would like to become a professional cricket player. He is training hard in his club and an academy. The cricket is probably what keeps them going and it is the young boy's passion and sense of life.

All donations will be only used for Tashrique's journey, in order to pay for the flight tickets. As the plane tickets are getting more expensive by the day the sooner we can buy the tickets the better.

Please be part of a team that tries to make the dream of the youngster come true.

*Funds raised will go directly to the Ottoman Cricket Club*
