Personal message

Become a friend of "the Garden" at Plettenberg Bay.

On our wish list is:

  • a wood chipper shredding machine
  • a bush cutter
  • a chain saw

The Garden is a beautiful forest below "the Hill" The property was previously owned by a family since the 1950s. Over the last 25 years lantana and wattle have been left to grow wild. choking the rose bushes, shrubs, bulbs and indigenous  trees planted on the terraces long ago.

Our aim is to purchase a TOMCAT chipper machine. This is the most cost effective and environmentally friendly way to eradicate the alien species and maintain the Garden.

We urgently need to cut down the invasive species growing in the Garden. The wood chips will be spread as compost and mulch in the newly planted indigenous forest.

The proceeds from the sale of the Memorial products sold on "the Garden" website online store are invested back into restoring, replanting and developing the Garden for future generations.

All contributions and donations from friends of the Garden are gratefully received.

The Garden at Plettenberg Bay Pty Ltd Logo

The Garden is a special place where all family members and friends can be honoured and remembered together.

After the official opening, the Garden can be physically visited and visible online through live streaming.

Names, dates, a description of life achievements and epitaphs on memorial columns with solar candle flames will be placed in the forest and indigenous Garden.

The Memorials in the Garden are a solution as a statement of forgiveness and can express gratitude and address unresolved or unexpressed feelings. Restore dignity to the ancestrally and socially excluded as a result of graves being overseas, unknown, inaccessible or in desolate municipal graveyards. Throughout the ages, humans have sought answers, and despite what they profess, most believe in the immortality of the soul and the afterlife.

The scenic beauty of Plettenberg Bay lives in the hearts and minds of all those who know it. The Garden has a beautiful view over the Bay and will be a peaceful and interesting sanctuary.
