Toni Mould

Personal message

My name is Toni Mould, 35, and I am a South African paracyclist. I have a disability called Cerebral Palsy caused by complications during the birth process. My CP which affects my balance, speech, and all my motor skills.

Cycling has become a vital aspect of my life, not only giving me a chance to travel and compete at the highest level of the sport, but also to stay healthy and keep my muscles, joints, and organs strong increasing my general health and well-being.

Paracyclists in South Africa have to be self-funded due to the lack of funding from the government and a lack of corporate sponsors that invest in SA para-athletes.  Funds raised through this campaign will be used for my training and competition expenses both in South Africa and in Europe in 2020.  Donations given on this platform will enable me to train and compete in competitions. Due to my disability, I cannot drive myself to the gym so I use Uber or lifts from friends and have to take a friend as an assistant on all my competition trips to help me with daily tasks. These are some of the reasons why it is so expensive for me to compete.

Since starting paracycling in 2013 my general health and strength have improved and by contributing to this campaign you are not only investing in my cycling, but also in keeping me healthy and active.

Funds raised will be used to cover:
Cycling SA Racing License - R450.00 per year  (Covered & Paid)
Cycling SA Membership - R250.00 per year (Covered & Paid)
Maties Parasport Club Fees - R300.00 per year (Covered, Yet to pay)
Coetzenberg Track Fees - R600.00 per year (Covered, Yet to pay)
Gym Fees - R3,300.00 per year
Uber Rides to Gym - R500 per month (6 months covered)

Western Cape Road Championships - R250.00 (11th January 2020) (Covered & Paid) - Gold Medal
South African Road and Time Trial Champs - R13,623.72 (4th - 9th Feb 2020) (Covered)
UCI World Cup Italy - R41,534.00 (27th - 30th May 2020) (R2,834 so far)
World Championships Belgium - R42,698.00 (4th - 8th June 2020)

Funds will be paid into my bank account from where it will be managed. Should you want your contribution to be used for a specific item (eg. competition, gym, uber, annual fees) please just let me know by writing it in the comments when you make a contribution.
