PETS Empowerment in Cape Town Townships
PETS – Cape Town & Witbank – ‘Pet Empowerment in TownShips’ – PETS work within the townships - trying to bring down the ever growing numbers of animals - by sterilising; vaccinating and deworming. PETS conduct ‘Spayathons’ – which are allocated mass sterilisation days that take place at a pre-arranged venue within a township and anything from 50 – 100 dogs can be sterilised in a day. Abandoned and abused animals are also rescued from the township.
Pet Finda – Kat a private individual, rescues strays within the Kensington & surrounds community. Strays that aren’t claimed from the local vets are networked to be homed – as they are at the local vet there is a very small window of time in which to home them. Kat also assists with re-homing of animals for whatever the reasons as well as aids in finding a new pet for a family looking to adopt. She also ensures that any injured strays receive medical attention.
Burrows Rescue – The Dog Saver, Wendy Burrows is a private individual who works within the Edenvale area and assists in re-homing animals that have been surrendered by their owners for whatever reasons. Wendy is able to kennel a few of the larger dogs on her plot while they wait for homes, but others need to be placed in foster care until homed.
All the rescuers would like to take this opportunity to say:-
‘Thank you for your generous donations and on-going support.’
